TRAVELING MEMORY TRUNK
Content ~ The Vernon Museum’s Traveling Memory Trunk is a wonderful class adjunct to the classroom presentation, “The Beginnings of Early Vernon”. It contains copies of archival documents of local interest, along with a selection of pioneer artifacts from the museum’s collection. Included are photographs, maps and newspapers, as well as personal and household items, all providing a tangible link to pioneer life and history.
The Traveling Memory Trunk can be booked through the School District #22 Resource Centre. Loan periods are two to three weeks depending on how many classes in each school wish to explore the trunk. It can be sent out from and returned to the Resource Centre by School District transport.
Teachers are asked to please record the number of students using the trunk on the form inside the trunk, and report any repairs needed to the Resource Centre, who will then notify the museum.
Loan period ~ 2 – 3 weeks
